Swindon Croquet Club’s golf croquet team travelled to Cheltenham for the first league match of the season.
In the golf variant of the game, points are awarded for the first ball through each hoop.
Captained by Tony Tomlin, the team raced into an early lead, and although some of the singles and doubles games were closely contested, the Cheltenham players couldn’t cope with Swindon’s accurate ball placing and hoop running.
The final score was 13-7 to Swindon, with Martin Briggs being ‘Man of the Match’ as he won both of his singles matches and both of his doubles matches.
New members are always warmly welcomed at the club and free taster sessions are available.
