Everybody welcome at Moredon Sporting Hub

The state-of-the-art facility, which opened in July last year, offers a variety of sports from football to cycling.

 

Built by the ouncil and operated by Central Swindon North Parish Council, the venue features one of the longest cycle tracks in the country and an all-weather football pitch.

 

Alongside football and cycling, users of the hub will also be able to play cricket and croquet, and enjoy the café inside the new pavilion.

Cllr Jim Grant, Swindon Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Communities and Joint Working, said: “It’s great to see the Moredon Sporting Hub thriving and the excellent work being done by Central North Swindon Parish Council.

“This is one of the projects that we as a council can be most proud of and, by offering sporting opportunities to everyone in the local community, it’s helping us deliver a better and fairer Swindon.

“I’d encourage everyone who hasn’t already to check out the Hub and see if any of the available sports are right for you.”

The hub offers sport leisure for all ages, aimed at those new to the sports available at the site.

It’s also open to those who may have stopped playing but are keen to return to sport and physical activity, as well as those wishing to continue their activity in a better environment.
