The Bespoke Guardians Swindon Wildcats have announced the arrival of 27-year-old Canadian forward Jake Bricknell from the Reading Royals in the ECHL.

Jake began his career in Ontario and made his way to the OHL in 2013, icing with the Belleville Bulls.
His OHL career took him from Belleville to Hamilton Bulldogs and then to the Guelph Storm before heading into the OJHL.
After his junior career, Jake then spent two years at the University of Ontario USports team. In 51 games at this level he posted 48 points averaging almost a point per game, leading to his first call up to the ECHL in the 21-22 campaign.
After his debut year in the ECHL, Jake moved to the UK to ice for the Manchester Storm where he posted 17 points in 44 games for the Storm.
Last season he spent the whole year back in the ECHL with the majority of his games coming for the Royals.
Jake said: "I’m beyond excited to join the Wildcats. When I expressed an interest in returning to the UK I was introduced to Aaron, and we came to an agreement pretty quickly!
"When I was in the UK before it was one of my favourite years in hockey and I have no doubt Swindon will be the same.
"I’d describe my game as a power forward with an offensive upside. I like to get engaged in the game physically and use my hockey IQ to set up my team-mates.
"I also think my shot is my biggest strength and I’m looking forward to coming to Swindon and being an impact player right away.
"I'm pumped to have an amazing season and I can’t wait to get to the UK and meet you all at the Link Centre!"
Head Coach Aaron Nell said: "I'm equally as delighted to bring Jake to Swindon as he is to be here. He’s a dynamic player with a strong offensive game and I think he’s going to be a big player in our league this year.
"He’s a strong forward with a good eye for goal and he’s played consistently at a high level across the pond in the ECHL.
"I’m sure the Wildcats fans will quickly take to Jake, and I hope he can be a big part of any success we have on and off the ice this season."
People and organisations interested in sponsoring Jake or any of the 24-25 Wildcats are asked to email [email protected] for more information.
