Swindon Pickleball is celebrating a festive success after its newly introduced Christmas Festival sold out.
It has attracted players from across the UK to the Delta Tennis Centre for the event, which will run between Christmas and New Year.
Launched following strong demand after the End of Summer Festival, the two-day Christmas Festival has exceeded expectations.
Entries are now closed, with 152 individual players registered across the weekend and 100 players competing on each day, creating a vibrant and competitive atmosphere despite the winter timing.
The scale of the event is further underlined by representation from 50 different pickleball clubs, marking a significant milestone and highlighting the continued growth of the sport alongside Swindon Pickleball’s rising profile on the national scene.
A new social feature has also been introduced for this and all future festivals, with an organised Saturday evening dinner now forming part of the official programme. This weekend, 42 players will attend a festive buffet dinner at local restaurant Siam Thai, adding a relaxed and sociable element away from the courts.
Event organiser Shaun Jones welcomed the response to the festival: “The level of interest has been incredible.
“To attract over 150 players from 50 different clubs at this time of year shows just how strong the pickleball community has become.
"The new Saturday night dinner is all about bringing people together, and it’s great to see so many players embracing that social side of the festival.”
With the Christmas Festival now fully booked, attention is already turning to the next major event. The Swindon Pickleball Spring 2026 Festival has been confirmed for Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 March 2026, with entries now open.
