This weekend the Swindon Croquet Club held a well-attended in-house Progressive Doubles Tournament.
Swindon Croquet Club’s Progressive Doubles Tournament was held on Saturday, 6 August.
Organised by Tony Tomlin, the event involved 16 competitors playing five rounds of golf croquet games.
Players moved between lawns, depending on whether they had won or lost so that the doubles pairings changed at every round of games.
Ann Freegard was said to be the worthy winner, with Steve Hares being a close runner up.
Ann said: "Thanks very much to my doubles partners for their contributions to my victory."
However the rest of the SCC said it was her own impressive skill on the day that secured her winning points score.
The club were also keen to give thanks to Tony Tomlin for organising such an enjoyable competition.
Those who would like to try the sport can attend free taster sessions (with friendly tuition and equipment provided) at SCC’s Moredon lawns.
Individuals can email [email protected] for more information.
