The Swindon Croquet Club hosted its annual summer fun tournament where 27 players enjoyed games of mix and match golf croquet.
The summer tournament was said to be a success, with the team agreeing that event organiser Clive Smith 'did a superb job' organising all the rounds of games.
Chairman and tournament organiser, Clive, divided the players into two groups for a knockout hoop running competition, which was said to have tested everyone’s skills.
Winners of Group 1 and Group 2 were Terry Clements and Jan Booth, who narrowly beat runners up Anne Freegard and Mick Humphreys. In addition, players competed at table skittles with Terry Theobold winning the competition.
New member Christine Templeton was also welcomed to the club during this summer event.
For lunch, prior to the games, Clive's wife Sharon served hot dogs with fried onions and relish, along with Pimms and soft drinks.
The tournament was concluded with tea, coffee and cakes. All players expressed their gratitude to Clive, Sharon, and their helpers, for organising the day.
Clive said of the summer event: “It was good to see so many members enjoying the Summer Sausage Sizzle and croquet games. Proceeds will go towards obtaining a defibrillator for the Club."
