Following what was described as a disrupted pre-season, Swindon St George are said to be raring to go for their competitive match this Saturday.

The game will take place this Saturday, where Swindon St George will face off against the Torfaen Tigers.

The teams will be competing for Southern Conference (division west) points and home chairman Warren Huggins says he is confident that the lack of preparation will not prove too much of a disadvantage for his players.

He instead insists that they will be 'straining at the leash' to get going come Saturday afternoon.

Warren said: "The enthusiasm and excitement have been building for some time and the whole squad is just itching to get back out on that pitch and do what they do best."

Huggins does not underestimate the challenge that the Welsh side will provide, given that the Tigers had enjoyed a remarkable three-year undefeated run, prior to finally losing in their last game of 2021.

The triumphant team on that fateful day for the Tigers was none other than St George themselves.

The Swindon victory came in last season’s play-off quarter final, and that outcome is predicted to add spice to what already promises to be an exciting contest.

All spectators are welcome to come and enjoy the Rugby League game, at 2.30pm, this Saturday, 25 June at the NALGO Sports Ground, 610 Cricklade Road, SN2 7AP.

There is no entrance fee, and a fully licenced bar will be available.
