The Swindon St George Wheelchair Rugby League team has announced a major funding deal with the Rugby Football League worth over £3,000.

The awarding of this deal, which comes through Sport England, has been warmly welcomed by the side’s Head Coach Tony Ellis.

Tony said: "This will be a big boost for all of us. It will help us considerably with outgoings such as training venue costs, travel expenses and wheelchair maintenance."

It is also hoped that this welcome news will help the club in its recruitment drive which, as Ellis points out, is open to all comers, non-wheelchair users included, regardless of age, sex, experience or ability.

Tony continued: "We would welcome any prospective players wishing to register with us. Please contact me if you are interested in playing, helping or sponsoring us in this fast, fun and all-inclusive game."

Tony can be contacted on [email protected].
