Swindon's very own radio station, Swindon 105.5, well established in the community through its eight years of faithful service, is making huge steps to integrate even more fully with a move to brand new studios in Liden – and Sainsbury’s Stratton store is helping facilitate the transfer with a starter pack of essential supplies.

Recognising the need for such things as copy paper, pens and other vital stationery items, the superstore was quick to offer their assistance and is also providing a stock of tea, coffee and sugar, needed to keep the station’s willing army of volunteers energised. PR Ambassador Barrie Matthews was at the new facility today to hand over the supplies to Swindon 105.5 manager Shirley Ludford.

Accepting the goodies, she said: "I value our relationship with Sainsbury’s Stratton and am delighted on behalf of our team to thank them for this latest show of support.

"Every item donated means a little less fundraising, so more time spent on service delivery. Cheers Barrie!"

Store Manager at Stratton, Val Atwill, pointed out how Sainsbury’s values very much mirror those of 105.5, and said: "We both try to play a big part in our local community, so we appreciate their progress and wish them continued success following the move.

"With all the local groups and charities we are involved with in the area we see Swindon 105.5 as a perfect platform to communicate our efforts to the good people of the town. We wish Shirley and all the hard working people at Swindon105.5 the very best of luck."
