Swindon Dance has received £2,000 from the D’Oyly Carte Charitable Trust to run a weekly dance class for adult Swindon Carers. The classes will start on Tuesday 1st October 2019 and will continue until July 2020.

This project has been developed by Swindon Dance following a short pilot scheme with Swindon Carers earlier in 2019. Many adult carers may experience feelings of isolation and it can often be challenging when caring for a family member full-time with little access to activities and respite. Feedback from the pilot scheme showed the positive impact on the carers with them feeling re- energised with boosted self-esteem and aiding them to avoid social isolation.

The project aims to promote health, well-being and the positive impact that Dance can have.

Classes are FREE and open to all adults who are registered as Carers.
