An 11-minute movie by created by Swindon based filmmakers Doug Kirby and Billy Rees will be screened at the Lift-Off film festival on December 9.

Their one shot continuous take short film, Edge, will be screened alongside nine other short films at the festival at the Art House in Crouch End in London at 8pm.

At the event, all the films will be scored by the attending audience, where the winners are potentially screened at any of the ten proceeding Lift-Off global events.

Edge is described as a harrowing film exploring how a situation can be perceived - examining perception, mental health and relationships.

The Lift-Off Global network is a professional showcase offering distribution and the chance to be involved in Lift-Off’s own feature film production work.

Billy Rees said: “I’m so pleased to finally get to direct one of my screenplays.  Doug, I and the team we have assembled work so well together. It’s great to see this hard work paying off, to be honest though we have so much fun the recognition is just a bonus. We are very honoured to be in the London line up”.

Doug Kirby added, “I had to let Billy co-direct this one he never shuts up on set anyway! To be serious though it’s fantastic to work with some one who is so often on the same page we have several more projects including features and a TV series we can’t wait to get cracking on.”
