A Redrow site manager from Swindon has received a Quality Award at the NHBC’s annual Pride in the Job Awards.

Kevin Schwaben is currently overseeing work at the Abbey Farm development in Swindon and is amongst 18 of Redrow’s site managers across the country that have been recognised.

Abbey Farm, which consists of three and four bedroom Heritage Collections homes and looks upon beautiful countryside has become one of Redrow South West’s most sought-after developments.

Now in their 38th year, Pride in the Job celebrates the exceptional contribution site managers make in creating homes of outstanding quality.

With more than 16,000 site managers competing for the awards, this year’s Quality Award winners have been hand-picked for their excellent standards on site. Following 12 months of rigorous judging, these winners excelled and will now go on to compete for the Seal of Excellence and Regional Winner titles.

Kevin, who has worked for Redrow Homes for three years, said: “I am delighted to have received this award as not only does it show recognition for the work that I do but it also shows appreciation for the efforts of my team.”

Lee Hawker, managing director of Redrow South West, said: “We would like to congratulate Kevin on his achievements so far and wish him all the luck in the next round.

“The NHBC has a very rigorous judging process and only the best in the business receive the Quality awards so we’re very proud that Kevin has reached this stage.

“For Redrow, achieving award winning standards of construction provides further evidence that we’re producing a quality product.”

Commenting on the Awards, NHBC Chief Executive Steve Wood said: “Pride in the Job recognises the hugely important role site managers play in delivering high quality new homes for residents and homeowners across the UK. Their role is undoubtedly one of the toughest in house building, they really do make the difference to quality on site.

“Many congratulations to all of the 2018 Quality Award Winners.”

Following the announcement of the first-round winners, the successful site managers are invited to attend the Regional Award ceremonies held in the Autumn to celebrate their exceptional achievement and go on to compete for a Seal of Excellence and Regional Award.
