Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses after the theft from a house on Groundwell Road, Swindon.

Around 8.20pm on Monday 9 January 2017 a woman was at home when she saw a man open the door of the annex of the house at the end of the garden.

She shouted at the unknown intruder who then ran off after taking a purse containing cash and cards from her handbag.

The rear of the address backs onto an alleyway near to the Co-op on York road.

PC Simon Peet said:  "We would like to speak to anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in this area at this time.

"Perhaps you were in Groundwell Road or York Road and saw a man acting suspiciously - if so please come forward.

"Also, the offender appears to have left a black Carrera men’s mountain bike at the location."

If you can help with our enquiries please contact PC Simon Peet on 101 or anonymously, via Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111. Contact can also be made via e-mail: [email protected]
