Tickets for the Enchanted Christmas attraction at Westonbirt National Arboretum are selling fast to the extent that organisers are encouraging families to book soon to avoid disappointment.

Each year the Forestry Commission transforms its spectacular Cotswolds location into a winter wonderland of light and festive cheer delighting the thousands of families who travel from far and wide to enjoy the delightful experience.

But interest in the annual festive institution is higher than ever before with weekends proving enormously popular with families.

Paul Cody, Head of Visitor Attraction, Forestry Commission said: “We’ve been amazed by the level of interest so far this year. Enchanted Christmas is a hit with new and returning families every year which means demand gets higher the more its reputation soars.

"As tickets are for time-allocated slots we recommend that families book sooner rather than later to make sure they don’t miss out.”

Every year Enchanted Christmas sees the trees and paths of the arboretum magically transformed into journeys of festive wonder - guiding families through the beautiful tree collection with the opportunity for children (and well behaved grown-ups) to meet Father Christmas and his merry band of elves.

This year’s experience also includes a raft of activities including a hot chocolate stall, a snow making machine and free festive crafts to encourage creativity amongst family members.

The Taylor Family from Herefordshire/Worcestershire border visit Enchanted Christmas regularly and commented: “We love the National Arboretum but Enchanted Christmas is really something else.

"The magical transformation of the landscape into a winter wonderland never ceases to get us in the mood for the festive season. As a result the trip to Westonbirt has become an annual highlight for us all.”

With exciting interactive features all along the trail including dazzling light displays, projections and screens, Enchanted Christmas takes place over long weekends from the 1 December until 18 December, and is pushchair and wheelchair friendly.

Some of the popular slots are sold out but tickets are still available for some time slots on the following days:

  • Friday 1 December – Sunday 3 December
  • Thursday 7 December – Sunday 10 December
  • Thursday 14 December – Monday 18 December
