Supporters and families of those taking part in the famous Dallagio Cycle Slam event were able to keep up-to-date with the riders’ progress thanks to technology donated by West Swindon firm, CMS SupaTrak.

CMS SuperTrak, based at the Delta Business Park, provided each of the 19-strong cyclists with self-powered tracking devices that sent a live-feed from each rider to the cycle team’s website, enabling every mile of the journey to be followed in real time.

Rachel Roxburgh, CEO of the Dallagio Foundation, was delighted with the support the team received from CMS.  Rachel said: “CMS SupaTrak provided us with live trackers for the Dallaglio Cycle Slam.  The trackers were great and CMS’s support has helped to make a successful and safe event for which we are very grateful.  Those at home regularly referred to the tracking information of our riders, and I know that Lawrence Dallagio is also very grateful for the support of CMS SupaTrak and has already Tweeted his thanks to everyone.”

Jason Airey, MD of CMS SupaTrak said: “When The Dallagio Foundation contacted us we were more than happy to provide them with our trackers and a support vehicle.  The Dallaglio Cycle Slam is such a great event and raises a fantastic amount for charity.  The mountainous terrain is testing for any tracking technology and I’m really pleased to say the trackers didn’t miss a beat.  I’m told that some riders even used them on the road to find out where the next feed station was!”

The Dallaglio Foundation’s 2016 Dallaglio Cycle Slam raised £800,000 for the Dallaglio Foundation and saw riders spend 16 days in the saddle and cover 2,000km from Northern Spain, through the Pyrenees to Andorra, onto Barcelona and finishing in the Ibiza velodrome. The Dallaglio foundation work with disadvantaged teenagers who have been excluded from mainstream education, to get them into sustained employment, training or education
