Swindon-based Excalibur, who provide businesses with communications and IT solutions, has burst into the prestigious Sunday Times’ Top 100 Best Small Companies to Work For list.

Making its debut with an impressive ranking of 55th, Excalibur’s achievement – the first time it has attempted to win a place on the coveted list – is based purely on the opinions of its employees, who have put forward their views about their leaders, their working conditions and their employer’s values.

“As a company that is very people-focused, to see that our team value our place of work as much as we value our team is extremely positive”, said Excalibur’s Head of HR, Carly Deacon.

She added:  “Engagement is integral to our continued growth and success.  We are now committed to maintaining a place in The Sunday Times Top 100 Small Companies and our maximum star rating.  As ever, will always look at ways we can improve”.

In this 17th annual survey and ranking of the cream of Britain’s employers, Excalibur was ranked 8th in the country for ‘Giving Something Back’, with 98% of its staff agreeing that the company supports good causes.

In total, over 270,000 employees filled out the newspaper’s questionnaires.  The coveted Top 100 Small Companies listing, which Excalibur Communications is now part of, covers businesses with 50-250 staff.

The Sunday Times Awards recognise companies that have an exceptional level of employee engagement.  Detailed assessments are carried out on Leadership, Management, The Company, The Team, Wellbeing, Personal Growth, Giving Something Back and Fair Deal evaluations.
