More than £4,000 was raised for Brighter Futures at a charity event at Swindon Supermarine on Saturday.

The afternoon long fundraiser saw visitors take part in a penalty shoot out, browse the stalls of toys and books, have their faces painted, chance their arm in the lucky dip, risk life and limb on the bouncy castle and enjoy a range of sweets, cakes and hotdogs.

The Brighter Futures radiotherapy appeal aim to raise funds for a much needed £2.9 radiotherapy facility in Swindon. At present, patients requiring radiotherapy have to endure a round trip to Oxford several times a week, adding extra stress at a difficult time for the patient.

At time of writing, the radiotherapy appeal has collected £2,153,803 collected by 1,211 supporters - 74 percent of the way towards reaching the target figure.
