Becoming a Foster Carer could change a young person’s life, by offering a safe, nurturing home, setting them up for future independence. It is also an extremely rewarding career for those looking to do something different. You can become a Foster Carer whether you have or haven’t got children, own pets, practice a religion or not, are married, single or in a same-sex relationship. You don’t need to be a certain age or own your own home; you just need your landlord’s permission and a spare bedroom.

Why Blue Sky Fostering?

Blue Sky Fostering has been supporting local Foster Carers and looked after children since 2005, providing support and training to fostering families across a variety of fostering placements, from our flagship therapeutic fostering service, Therapeutically-Led Care (TLC), to parent and child fostering (P&C) and fostering teenagers. Blue Sky Fostering has been rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted on four consecutive occasions, with their last report stating: “The actions of the independent fostering agency contribute to significantly improved outcomes and positive experiences for children and young people.”

Blue Sky Foster Carer, Kevin’s message to those thinking about fostering: “Absolutely get stuck in, just go for it. You’ve got nothing to lose, but a whole lot to gain. Fostering, for us, has been everything and more than we ever dreamed it could be.”
