March sees a number of national and international campaigns that champion human rights and help define the values of our society, so Wiltshire Police is raising awareness of the issues surrounding Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) faced by many people in Wiltshire and Swindon on a daily basis.

Wiltshire Police will be supporting these campaigns throughout the month on the Force website, social media channels and releasing videos that cover a wide range of issues.

One of the first activities will be International Women’s Day which falls on March 8 this year and looks at gender equality issues and forging a better working world.

Wiltshire Police will be marking the day by celebrating the achievements of women in policing. The Wiltshire Police media team will be talking to a number of different women within a variety of roles and finding out what International Women’s Day means to them.

There will be support for the Wiltshire and Swindon Hate Crime Group, International Day for the Elimination of Racism, Down’s Syndrome Awareness and Autism Awareness.

The aim is to help promote equal opportunity for all and give every individual the chance to achieve their potential free from prejudice, discrimination and hate and encourage people to speak out and report EDI related crimes and incidents.
