Police are appealing for witnesses following a theft and assault on Rodbourne Road.

Around 4.45pm on Friday 29 June, a woman in her 60s was crossing Rodbourne Road by the Premier Store when she was approached by another woman who grabbed a £10 note she had in her hand, having just withdrawn it from a nearby ATM.

As the victim tried to get the money back she was pushed to the floor by the woman; although shaken the victim was not injured.

PC Ben Moore said:  "This was a deplorable attack on a vulnerable woman who has to walk with a crutch due to disability.  It was carried out in broad daylight with numerous members of the public driving and walking past - someone must have seen something - if that was you please contact me.
"I am particularly interested in speaking to two good samaritans who stopped to help the victim back to her feet."

If you can help with our enquiries please call PC Ben Moore on 101, quoting reference number 54180059582, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 to leave information anonymously.
