A dramatic WWII themed parachute jump will be performed at this year's Cotswolds Airport Revival on the 29 to 30 September.

The Army's Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers the ‘REME Lightning Bolts Army Parachute Display Team' will perform the jump while wearing vintage German military uniform, with the 'Home Guard' on the ground to meet them.

The display which is set to be performed in an AN-2 biplane, the world's largest single engine bi-plane, will be accompanied by the sound of WWII bombs, gunfire, a commentary and period music, for added effect.

Organisers shared: "The re-enactment is one of many activities planned for this year's show as we capitalise on the successes of last year. The first Cotswold Airport Revival Festival started out as an informal fundraising Open Day for 500 people, and ended up as a major event with over 10,000 visitors.

This year we have chosen to team up with Live Promotions Events Ltd, who are specialists in large scale events to expand our offering and draw in a greater number of visitors."

The festival which is to become an annual event in September, will be packed full over both days. With dramatic re-enactments and demonstrations, thrilling vintage air fly-ins, experience flights, and entertainment, including period live music.
