A community garden in Swindon will be open to the public on Sundays 19 May and 21 July from noon to 4pm as part of the National Gardens Scheme.

Twigs, based at Manor Garden Centre in Cheney Manor, offers a resource to give people who experience mental health problems the chance to regain confidence, self-esteem and to learn new skills.
The National Garden Scheme gives visitors unique access to over 3,500 outstanding private gardens in England and Wales, and raises money for nursing and health charities.
NGS has donated more than £60m over the years, with beneficiaries including Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie, Hospice UK and The Queen’s Nursing Institute.
The two-acre community garden, created and maintained by volunteers, features seven individual display gardens, an ornamental pond, a plant nursery, an Iron Age round house, artwork, a fitness trail, a separate kitchen garden site, Swindon beekeepers and the Haven, overflowing with wildflowers.
Hot and cold lunches are available at the Olive Tree cafe´ within Manor Garden Centre adjacent to Twigs. Pre-booking is required.
Admission to the NGS events will be priced at £3.50, with children admitted free.
Further information about Twigs can be found at www.twigscommunitygardens.org.uk, and about the National Gardens Scheme at www.ngs.org.uk
