A letter from the present Freshbrbok Village Group Chairman,
Gordon Eggers, 15 Liskeard Way
Dear Members,
As you are aware, the A.G.M. in October was cancelled due to hold-ups in
getting the hut ready. The committee requested that I stay Chairman until our
A.G.M. on Sunday 11th January. I agreed to this but will not be standing for
re-election.
The main purpose of the A.G.M. is to elect your representatives, so if you
fail to support it, the meeting could be a non-event. If you wish to nominate
yourself or anyone else, please ensure your nominations reach me before the
4th January as laid down by the Constitution.
The following posts will have to be filled:
Executive Committee - Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Press Officer and
Committee
Community Centre Management
Committee - Chairman, Secretary and Committee
Education Sub-Committee - Chairman, Secretary and Committee S
Social Sub-Committee - Chairman, Secretary and Committee
Distributions - one person from each road to distribute information
We must thank all those who helped get the Hut project started and at last
near success - Thamesdown who gave a grant of £10,000; the County Education
Department who let us have the Hut for £100; the builders who very kindly
donated time, material and effort; Roger Ogle and Andrew Hake of Community
Development who pushed on regardless of hurdles; last but not least Mike
Muggridge and his committee for their efforts. It is my suggestion we have a
plaque erected with the names of those who helped on it as a gesture of our
appreciation.
As this may be the last chance before Christmas of addressing you, may I
wish you all a very happy Christmas and a happy (if not so muddy) New Year.
