BRADLEY PLANNING SERVICES
The grid road system which serves Westlea was conceived, designed and built under the
supervision of the civil engineers at Bradley Planning, Services, the most recently created
company within the long established Bradley Group renown for private housing and building
products.
Bradley Planning Services are the project managers for Westlea which means that the Company
has taken over the responsibility for the design and implementation of all the development
framework. The grid roads, footpaths, cycleways, sewers, trunk services and landscaping
are provided to a tight programme and. the 'products' at the end of the day are the
serviced land parcels which are sold by Planning Iervices of behalf of the Group to the
various house builders and industrial/commercial companies that have, and are, moving into
Westlea.
The job of looking after what is variously described as "one of the largest private sector
e
developments in the UK" and "the largest new town de velpment undertaken by the private
sector" requires a. rapport with the various local authorities and statutory undertakers;
the town planners, engineers and landscape architects in Planning Services have developed.
a close and creative working relationship with the various representatives concerned.
The Chairman and Managing Director of Planning Services, Tony Bradley, reflects on the
fact that his Company has played an active role in master-minding the part which the
Westlea Expansion Area is playing in Swindon's growth. It's ultimate success however will
rely won continuing co-operation between residents and developers and in this cntext it
is essential that lines of communication are preserved.
If you ;rant to bring a matter to Bradley's attention, please write to the Project Manager,
Bradley Planning Services, Okus, Swindon. _ _
