West Swindon library is very pleased

GILLIES the West Country artist Peter Gillies.
The exhibition was especially commiss-
-ioned for the 1985 D.H. Lawrence Centenary
Festival in Nottingham and this showing will
be the first in the South of England.
The title for the collection is taken
from the D.H. Lawrence novella 'The Escaped
Cock' Each work is an abstract interpretation
of a key paragraph in the story which
starts with the quotation used as the exhib-
-ition title.
Peter Gillies will launch the exhibition
with a talk about his work on Tuesday 11th
