Cuppas
There's a friendly welcome at Fresh-
brook's very own community cafe. It's called
CUPPAS and it can be found in FreshbrQbk
Community Centre at the Village Centre.
CUPPAS is open from 9 am to 4 pm and
it's a great place to meet friends or make
friends. You can get a hot drink or have a
snack; or just come in from the cold.
Working 'Phone
Another public telephone has been in-
stalled at Freshbrook Village Centre. Seeing
as the BT phone box was usually out of
order, Freshbrook Community Centre have
installed one inside their foyer. The tele-
phone is available from 9 am to 10.30pm,
it works all the time and it's in the warm.
The only problem is that you might have to
avoid the queue.

The residents of Windmill Court, Feshbrooks
new Elderly Persons Group Dwelling would
welcore donations of any board and card
games, a bingo machine and a Piano. Ring

PROBLEM SOLVER
The Freshbrook Village Group resident
organisation have appointed a committee
member to be concerned about the whole
community. Because managing the Commun-
ity Centre takes up a lot of time, the FVG
was in danger of forgetting about the prob-
lems faced by people living in Freshbrook
including Grange Park.
Aileen Matthews who lives at 86, The
Holbeins, Grange Park (Tel:874511) is the
contact point for anybody in the area who
has a concern about community issues. These
could be street lights not working, flooding
subways, dogs fouling footpaths, the need
for more community groups, rascist graffiti
to be removed or any of hundreds of other
matters which a resident's organisation
should take up on behalf of local people.
The Freshbrook Village Group has a
good track record of representing residents
on community matters. It wants to keep
this up, but can only do so if people point
out their concern. Aileen would be pleased
to hear from you.
FRIDAY SOCIAL
Freshbrook Community Centre is going
to start a social group for people who want
to get together during the daytime. Its not
for mothers and toddlers, nor is it for pension
bring people together because of their diff-
1 % erent interests and ideas.
What goes on in the Friday Social will
be up to those who join. It could be films,
speakers, crafts or just being sociable. Hope-
fully a creche can be organised.

NEW AEROBICS CLASS
Freshbrook Aerobics starts on Thursday 5th
February 8.30-9.30pm at Freshbrook Community
Centre. £1 Come and get fit with Niki.
