Day of action helps good causes
Cycling, walking, fishing, horse riding and board games were just a few of
the sponsored activities involving all the children at Ridgeway School at
Wroughton in September.
The result of all the effort was £8,418 to be spent on extra-curricular
activities, school improvements and charitable good causes.
A donation of £500 was given to the John Griffiths Cyclothon Appeal
which is raising money for kidney research. John, who suffers from kidney
problems, recently cycled from John O'Groats to Land's End to raise
money. He is well known to Ridgeway students living in Toothill as he
regularly drives the bus to and from school.
The school donated £250 each to the Cancer Research Campaign and
Swindon's Prospect Foundation.
