For the business community, there is a con-
ference room accommodating 400 people and
twelve other meeting rooms, plus a self con-
tained board room with dining room suite.
An inner courtyard will allow a small mar-
quee to be erected for special functions like
wedding receptions, or barbecues.
The cuisine will be international and pre-
pared to a high standard under the watchful
eye of chef David Grainger who comes to
Swindon from the five star Grand Hotel in
Brighton.
Without doubt, from the entrance foyer in
three colours of marble, to the London club feel
of a lounge with its fireplace, the DeVere hotel
exudes luxury. And Mr Stuart believes it will
appeal to both visitors and residents of the
area. 'People shouldn't think we're going to
be too posh for them. The hotel is part of the
community and we believe we're bringing
local people facilities they want. Customer
care is of utmost importance and all our staff
have been selected and trained with this in
mind. We're also working to certain standards
and will be expecting smart casual wear at the
least from visitors."
