Iwas first in the classroom. For my
early morning activity I drew a pic-
ture of me going to a toy shop. Then
                              I read a book called 'KingBidgood's
in the Bathtub' on my own. After
register I made a sign. My partner
Claire did the picture and I did the
big writing. Then I chose to go to
the writing table because I like writ-

                              Sarah.
At lunchtime I had twiglets, my
favourites. After assembly I had a
chime bar for music and in FE I
liked doing the rolly polies! At
hometime mummy was just in time
                               to take me home.

8am Arrive at school and immediately get into preparation for the day. JOIN TODAY AND START
8.30 The first children arrive, ten minutes ahead of 'official'starttime. The BUYING YOUR OWN HOME
Unit fills up and parents help children tackle their morning activities.
9.00 After calling the register I once more attempt to capture the chil-
dren's interest and stimulate their imaginations, in order to develop their
minds and enable them to produce good quality work. All in one morning
   too!
We have got painting going on in one area, think writing in another and
a parent listening to readers in another. Thefe's sand and water play and
IT on the computer. Simon, age 4, is our computer consultant. What he
doesn't know ... There are children in the Home corner and others doing
construction on the carpet. Ever felt like a fire engine? Bright red, noisy
and going from one emergency to the next.
10.00 Assembly in the Hall is followed by playtime. Acup of coffee at last.
10.50 On we go. Need to work out who is doing what next. As lunch time
approaches we tidy up, help the new children go home (this is a reception/ H ND
year one class) and steer the rest to lunch and play. This involves a lot of
zipping of zips and lacing of laces. Thank heavens for velcro!
12.00 Teachers' meeting, swapping ideas and planning, planning.
12.45 Grab a sandwich and half a cup of tea before heading back to the Unit
   for silent reading.
1.30 Music time and dance too. Then playtime inside because it's wet HOMEBOND
   outside.
2.45 Storytime and the children settle down to listen to more adventures

of Thomas the Tank Engine, our topic this term.
3.20 Home time and all children are waved off. Time to catch up on end
of the day jobs: tidying, putting up displays. For an Info Pack
5.00 Governors' Communication Sub-Committee meeting. Attempt to
think creatively about communication within and without the school.
                                                                   HOMEBOND AMBROSE HOUSE
6.10 Almost done now. Will I get through aerobics without collapsing MILTON ROAD SWINDON SN! 5JA
and go home sufficiently refreshed to begin thinking about another day in
the life of Brook Field Primary School?
