below, is based at Westlea Police
Station and combines responsibil-
ity for West Swindon with being

third of Wiltshire county.
He has been a police officer for
13 years and says, "this role is a
tremendous challenge and I thor-

Inspector Longden has previ-
ously worked in the City of Lon-
don Police and in the Salisbury
and Chippenham areas. Immedi-
ately prior to transferring to the
Swindon Division, he worked in
the Wiltshire Constabulary Train-
ing Unit where he specialised in
Management Training and Devel-
opment.
With regard to the future, he
says, "I am keen to strengthen part-
nerships and links with the com-
munity. I shall be developing the
role and work of my local beat
officers, they are the cornerstone
of our service to the public."
