Live lamb and singing bacteria
give food hygiene lessons
Youngsters at Brook Field School learnt all about germs in the
kitchen from Swindon Council's environmental services section
during National Food Safety Week in June.
With the help of singing bacteria and a live lamb, the five and six year
olds learnt that they must wash their hands after handling food to
prevent food poisoning.
National Food Safety Week emphasised the importance of keeping
raw and cooked foods apart, maintaining kitchen cleanliness and
avoiding cross-contamination.
