Get organised to get active
Whatever your age, just half an hour of physical activity a day will
maintain and improve health, make you feel and look good, and help
keep you mobile and independent. You reduce the risk of heart disease,
reduce blood pressureand mild anxiety and improve self-esteem.
The town's annual Get Active Day (GAD) takes place on 20 Septem-
ber and anyone can take part. Events already confirmed include:
• a 15 minute work out at the Broome Manor Golf Complex with
Julia Drown MP;
• children at the new Catherine Wayte primary school will be doing
a GAD dance and other schools have been approached;
• fitness challenges for staff at New Zealand Milk at Blagrove
