After a much-publicised High Court verdict at the
end of last year, Swindon's Southern Development
Area (SDA), has finally received the green light for
development.
The decision means that at least 3.800 homes will be built to meet Swindon's
future housing needs.
However, the form of development has yet to be decided. Bryant Homes.
who are leading the project. have agreed with the Borough Council the need
to involve the people of Swindon in creating an attractive, sustainable
environment that will benefit the whole town.
Before any planning application is submitted for the SDA, a masterplan will
be created to lay out the principles of development and set the overall vision
for the site. The masterplanning process is an ideal opportunity for the
community to put forward their thoughts and ideas to help influence the future
shape of the development at a very early stage.
