                                                          Gift boxes being prepared
                                             Churches, schools and local groups are busily making up Christmas presents in shoe
                                            boxes ready for this year's Operation Christmas Child.
                                              In West Swindon the partnership of churches are aiming to have at least 100 boxes filled
                                            with items which will make Christmas special for children around the world who won't
                                            be receiving much - toys, sweets, pens, pencils, paper and toiletries. If you want to make
                                            up and donate a shoe box, Di Benbow will be at Holy Trinity Church, Shaw on Friday 5
                                            November, 10am to 12noon to receive donations. She can also be called on 881274 to
                                            arrange a collection before 10 November.
                                              Please note, each box should be accompanied by a £2 donation to cover transportation
                                            costs.
                                              In North Swindon the Church of Christ the Servant is holding a special family and
                                            parade service on 21 November, 10.30am, to dedicate shoe boxes before they are sent
                                            away.
                                              The church will be open from Monday 15 to Friday 19 November, 10am to 2pm so that
                                            boxes can be dropped off. If this is not convenient, call Rev Brian Sweetman on 706558.
