Get ready to get active

In the last year obesity and the Atkins diet have hit the headlines, but every year Swindon Council
organises its Get Active Day - a chance to reinforce the point that to lose weight, you need to burn more ELLIOTT'S
energy than you take in, that is: do more exercise and alter what you eat. p „ p„ MARTIAL ARTS

Club to show some steel
West Swindon Football Club will be playing with greater strength in
the Wiltshire League Divison 1, now that they are sponsored by
Purton based steel fabricating company EW Booth & Son.
The club was formed in Rodbourne during the 1950s when that part
of town was considered West Swindon. In the 1980s matches were cal
played at Greendown until the club was promoted and had to move to the real
a ground with better facilities. Currently matches are played at Ballards
Ash in Wootton Bassett. For results go to www.wsfc.co.uk
