TANZANITE
Tanzanite is a rich blue-lavender colour which is rather
unique. It was discovered in 1967 in the Umba Valley near
the Usambara Mountains in Tanzania and was named
after its country of origin by the famous New York jeweller
Louis Comfort Tiffany.
Tanzanite is sometimes used as an alternative to the
traditional December birthstones of turquoise and zircon
