Free festival
sets scene for
annual event
The Corporate Games at the be-
ginning of June were hailed a great
success.
The Princess Royal launched the
event which brought thousands of
company sporty types to the town
from across Britain.
She also 'unveiled' Lydiard
Park's restored lake by switching
on a spectacular fountain for the
first time. Jake the Juggler by the restored

Swindon Council is looking at
repeating the event with a greater
local emphasis. Freshbrook and
Grange Park councillor Peter
Green halg h said, "there was a great
easy-going atmosphere; I'd like to
see this as an annual get together
for sports, culture and arts."
