Oxfam wants to know Birthday at lunch club
what young people think Freshbrook's weekly lunch club celebrated its fourth year with a cake
and knees up in early February.
Anna Hirsch-Holland from Shaw is a member of the Oxfam Youth Board The club provides lunch for 35 members and helpers at the commu-
which is made up of volunteer 16 to 24 year olds and acts as a sounding nity centre and has a few places for over 60s and anybody with a
board for issues which are important to young people today. She's
disability in West Swindon. They also need more volunteers to cover

As a member of this board, I have been appointed to undertake some For details call Lorraine Webb on 871017 on weekday mornings.

issues and global citizenship. club members and volunteers before the cake cut
The information collected will be very useful for Oxfam to help
inform their development education strategy for schools in the UK.
This provides a framework which schools andeachers can choose to
follow in order to equip young people with the knowledge, skills, and
attitudes needed to allow them to challenge inequality, discrimination,
and stereotypes of people, as well as encouraging them to take action
for a fairer and more equitable world.
I have a short questionnaire which I'd like secondary school pupils to
fill out, investigating their attitudes and beliefs to global issues sur-
rounding the education of global citizenship in schools. I would en-
courage as many pupils as possible to fill in this questionnaire, in order
to help Oxfam with its valuable work.
The questionnaire for postal return is available by mailing:
