Guitarists across the generations
When Maurice Goodearl read a Link article about young guitarist Kit
Hawes, it struck a chord. Having played with the big names in the 1 930s
and 40s. Maurice wanted to share his memories and gave Kit a call.
It turned out that the two guitar-
ists had a shared love of Django
Reinhardt, the famous 1930sgypsy La"ti
guitarist.
"I thought it would be good to
speak to a fellow guitar player,"
said Maurice. 'I've got a lot of mu-
sic I've written. I'm 90 now and
shan't live many more years. I think
my children will throw it all away
which would be a pity. I'd rather
give it to someone who's inter-
ested and can use it."
