Crafty kids summer camp at Steam
Each Wednesday, Smiley Cats will run their holiday camp where
youngsters will be entertained with face painting, games and arts and
crafts.
Owner, Maddy Smithson, decided to move from the Haydon Centre
to Steam so that they would be able to run term time clubs as well as the
holiday camps. “Steam has brilliant facilities, bright spacious rooms,
easy access, friendly staff and a big hall.”
Sessions are designed to encourage creativity and stimulate chil-
dren’s imaginations and self-expression through art and play. The Arts
and Crafts club is on Wednesdays during the school term and Fun Club
runs on Fridays.
Holiday camp is on Wednesdays, 10am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to

First aid signup
Lower Shaw Farm is running a four week first aid course suitable
for parents, childminders, school staff, pre-school workers and
anyone responsible for the welfare of infants and children.
Participants will learn in a friendly and positive environment and
focus on the skills of emergency care for babies and children. The
certificated course, approved by OFSTED, is HSE recommended for
Appointed Persons in the workplace.
Course dates: Wednesdays 26 September, 3, 10 and 17 October,
6.30pm to 9.30pm at Lower Shaw Farm
