Size doesn’t matter at a club for motorbike enthusiasts: all are
welcome, from 125cc learners to experienced bikers on the most
powerful machines at the Swindon Rideout Club.
Set up by Mandy Irvine, the club is the perfect way to meet up, enjoy
weekly rides, share the occasional fun curry night and raise some
money for charity.
“Riding out together is a bit like being at a party or day out with
friends,” said Mandy. “We go as fast as the slowest rider and always
have a tail-ender who makes sure that no-one is left behind. Our one
rule is that we leave as a group and arrive as a group. Riders on more
powerful bikes may power ahead, but then they wait for the rest of the
party to catch up.”
Members come from all walks of life: paramedics, squadies, compu-
ter buffs, bankers, farmers and chefs. The one thing they all have in
common is a passion for bikes.
