                      Justice and Peace unite refugees
                  Torrential rain didn’t dampen the atmosphere at a get together  in July
                  for the town’s refugees despite a last minute change of venue.
                    The planned barbeque at Lydiard Park for over 100 refugees was
                  hastily switched to a meal at St Luke’s church hall. Volunteers from the
                  Catholic group, Justice and Peace, and the Harbour Centre for Refugees
                  and Asylum Seekers taxied the families to the venue, where they
                  enjoyed a sociable afternoon and a Halal meal.
                    The town hosts refugees from at least 50 countries. The Harbour
                  Project, based at St Luke’s hall, provides a friendly meeting place where
                  people can ask for advice, use the internet or drop in for coffee and
