Christmas in traditional fashion
The magic of Christmas past can be found at Lydiard House in Decem-
ber when the elegant State Rooms will be decked in traditional festive
greenery and decorations to create the intimate atmosphere of a Victorian
family Christmas.
The annual display is specially
designed and created by fl oris-
try students at Wiltshire College,
Lackham and gives an insight
into how the Victorians celebrated
Christmas.
The students combine tradi-
tional materials like ribbons, bows,
cones, dried fruits and spices with
natural foliage and materials from
the park to create stunning fl o-
ral displays and to decorate the
Christmas trees.
The festive mood will be height-
ened on Sunday 9 December,
