Former Olympians to play tournament
North Wilts Hockey Club will be training through the summer at
Dorcan Leisure Club and are holding its annual six a side competition
on 14 and 15 July.
The Great Britain veterans team captained by former England and
Great Britain goalkeeper Simon Mason plus a team of former interna-
tionals who have played at the Commonwealth and Olympics will be
attending the event.
New adult and junior members are welcome at training and to view

North Swindon to Paris by bike
Simon Greenwood and fiance Emma-
Dee Hamilton from Redhouse have been
training hard for several months to ride
the 400 kilometres from London to Paris
between 8 and 12 July in aid of MacMillan
Cancer Support.
They have pledged to raise at least £2,400
and are keen for readers to help them with
donations.

Charity cycle rides coming up
If Simon and Emma-Dee have inspired the thought to bike for charity -
over a shorter distance - here are three events in need of participants:
Friday 29 June to Sunday 1 July
NSPCC big bike races in and around Coate Water for all ages and
abilities. Call 740331 for entry form.
Saturday 22 September, 11am
The Cancer Research UK/Active Swindon bike rides for life, starting and
finishing at Lydiard Park. Two rides: 20k (for 12 years and over - on quiet
roads); 5k ride within the park for under 11s.
