Council to flush away four years of community initiative
Have a vision, take action, rent space from Swindon Council, organise a growing range of community
related projects, put forward a viable long term proposal - and be kicked out for your pains.

Swindon: your views wanted, warts and all
Lynette Thomas from Rodbourne is planning a book entitled Swindon- The Good, Bad & The Ugly which
she says will be a tongue-in-cheek look at what people living in Swindon really think about their town.
She has been gathering material for some months, including the views of well known singer and Swindon
critic Andy Partridge of XTC. Lynette, said, “the town has been the butt of many a joke over the years but
I want to record what people who live here actually think about the place. It can be buildings, places, people,
events, community projects- whatever comes to mind.”
Lynette is spending the summer photographing sites around the town and hopes to publish in the
Autumn. Any profits will go to the Octobus community arts project. To give your point of view, contact:
Lynette Thomas, 48 Churchward Avenue, Swindon, SN2 1NH or mail: [email protected]
