from 2 to 10 June
Swindon Council, health and leisure clubs, personal trainers, sports
clubs and community groups are offering free or reduced rate access
to a huge range of facilities and activities for all interests and ages.
Whether it’s athletics, badminton, boccia, or tea dancing, trampoline,
unihoc, walking, water babies or yoga there’s something for you.
The Active Swindon’s showcase event is the Tree-Mendous Tuesday
on 5 June, 5pm to 9pm at Croft Sports Centre/Great Copse, a free,
outdoor physical activity event for all the family. On offer will be
orienteering, circus skills, parachute games, skateboarding/BMX park,
disc golf, den making,cycling, mobile climbing wall, kiting, kite-board-
ing, tai-chi and ultimate frisbee.
The week starts with a Festival of Sport weekend on 2 and 3 June
where individuals and company teams will be competing in a wide range
of sports. Everything you need to know about taking part can be found

Junior team needs players
Lydiard Youth under 10’s will move up from mini-soccer to full 11 a
side games in the North Wilts & District Football League from August
and need to strengthen its squad. They are particuarly looking for
