Windmill plans coming forward
Plans to build a wind turbine at Windmill Hill Business Park should
be on display to the public in October or November.
npower renewables put forward the proposal a year ago and a
temporary mast has measured wind levels to establish whether the site
overlooking Freshbrook and Grange Park is suitable.
Pete Forest said the test results showed there is enough wind energy
to make the turbine a viable proposition and a public exhibition during
the Autumn will explain the results of surveys which considered the
prospect for wind power generation and also levels of noise, the effect
on telecommunications and ecological issues. "The response to our
initial consultation last year was very encouraging; there is a lot of
support for wind generation. We're very keen to discuss the outcomes
of the surveys and show what the mast will look like."
