Support the less fortunate in the
festive season
Donations and helpers wanted
Christmas Care provides temporary shelter for homeless and lonely
people and those in need over the Christmas period. The project runs
from 2pm on Wednesday 24 December to Sunday 28 December at Queen’s
Freshbrook Village Centre, Swindon Drive Methodist Church.
The church hall on Whitbourne Avenue will be open to collect dona-
tions of food, bedding, toiletries and clothing on:
• Saturday 13 December and Saturday 20 December from 10am - 3pm
• Wednesday 17 December and Friday 19 December, 7pm - 9.30pm
Money is needed to make the season of good cheer more welcoming
for those in need. Cash or cheques (payable to Christmas Care) can be
delivered to the above venue. Two chest freezers are also urgently needed.
Call Patsy Maloney on 642368 if you can help.

Hot curry backing on the ice
Swindon Lions under 16s player Matthew Tregelles is making an
impact at the Link Centre ice rink sporting a team shirt emblazoned
with the Bombay Lounge logo.
“Matthew’s family are one of my oldest customers and when his dad
approached me for sponsorship I was more than happy to assist,” said
Lounge owner Hanif Robbani. “The shirt looks great; it brings a whole
new meaning to ‘aggressive in your face marketing.’”
When not on the ice, Matthew is a Link magazine distributor.
