First Mad March Hare hailed a success

After a false start when the event had to be postponed because of a fl ooded course, the runs and power walks from Greendown around
Lydiard Park took place on 30 March.
Now that the fi rst one is out of the way, the Swindon volunteers
from Breakthrough Breast Cancer who organised the day in memory
Irene Hare are raring to go for another. “We’ve learnt a huge amount
about organising an event like the Mad March Hare,” said Margaret
Nicholson. “The marshalls did a fantastic job; it’s an experience we
want to build on and get more people participating in.”
The organising committee want to thank sponsors and supporters
for their help: Les Slinn Personal Training, the Big Adventure Store,
Triumph International, Doves Farm Organics, Swindon Council,
the National Lottery, Greendown School and The Link.
