                               Evening Star coming home
             The last steam locomotive built for British Railways, No. 92220 Evening Star, returns to Swindon in September
             to be displayed on the site where she was built.
              She will arrive at STEAM - Mu-
             seum  of  the  Great Western  Rail-
             way during the fi rst week of Sep-
             tember, on loan from the National
             Railway  Museum  in  York  where
             the engine has been on show for
             some 30 years.
              Thousands will fl ock to STEAM
             in the coming months to see Eve-
             ning Star, built in 1960, beside a
             revamped  platform  display  remi-
             niscent  of  the  last  few  years  of
             steam  locomotion  on  British  Rail
             until 1965.
              The  museum  expects  to  attract
             visitors from all over the world, in-
             cluding many of the men and wom-
             en who helped build Evening Star   16 March 1960: unveiling the last of the many at Swindon Works
